Недела ??? 10/6/2021
Здраво !!
At this point it feels as if all the weeks are the same, but I think I'm on week eight ahah. It's crazy to think that I'll be done with the MTC in a week and a half and then will be flying out to Nashville in 3 weeks because at this point it doesn't even feel like I'll ever leave home, so it may be a rude awakening :)))
Unexciting, but exciting to me, events that happened this week:
-I got my hair dyed darker :'/ so that the blonde won't grow out horribly on my mission. Tbh you can't tell that much tho bc my hairstylist added more blonde pieces to the front so that I can still feel somewhat blonde ahah
-We moved !! My parents new house is finally done being built and so we've spent pretty much the entirety of this week unpacking, which just meant a lot of service for me and not as much time studying so I can't complain too much hah
-I did finally get correct flights, only after 5 tries hah and so I will officially be flying out of here on October 27th at a nice 6 am and arriving in Nashville around 5 pm.
-I have quickly become our puppy's new favorite owner and so I am one happy camper. She's a mini goldendoodle and she is just about the cutest thing (although we're still working on not peeing when she gets excited lol)
-I realized during one of our lessons that my Macedonian was coming along slightly quicker and I didn't have to think sooo hard about what I was saying. Still definitely slow, but I'm getting faster at trying to get my point across.
We got to listen to the words of our prophet this week in General Conference! I enjoyed every second of listening to the counsel and talks shared and was touched by how many speakers talked about the love of the Savior and the love we need to have for one another. I loved this quote by one of the apostles, Ulisses Soares: "The compassionate attitude of Jesus is rooted in charity, namely, in His pure and perfect love, which is the essence of His atoning sacrifice. Compassion is a fundamental characteristic of those who strive for sanctification, and this divine quality intertwines with other Christian traits such as mourning with those who mourn and having empathy, mercy, and kindness. The expression of compassion for others is, in fact, the essence of the gospel of Jesus Christ and a marked evidence of our spiritual and emotional closeness to the Savior." This world needs a little more Christ-like love because there is far too much anger, sadness, hopelessness, and hate. Find a way this week to be a little bit more loving because that is the most important thing we can share. I know that even if all I can do is love the people I meet on my mission and even if none of them accept my message, God will still be proud of me for sharing His love with His children, wherever I am.
I love you all and I am grateful for a knowledge of a Heavenly Father who loves us perfectly. His love extends to all people, despite their many differences, and our love can too.
