Hey everyone !!
I left Utah last Wednesday and after only a 4.5 hour delay hah, my flight finally made it to AZ! I finished my finals for summer term on Friday and then on Sunday I was set apart as a missionary, so it’s been a little bit crazy trying to get ready. But it was all so worth it! There is a special spirit that comes from being set apart as a representative of Jesus Christ and I feel so honored to where His name every day on a name. It’s only been 2 days, not including my p-day today, and it is just an overall 11/10.
I was super nervous to start my classes because everyone had told me that they jump right into the language and try to start the immersion process. Well lucky for me, when you’re in the MTC for 9 weeks, they don’t start full immersion until the middle of the 3rd week. So for now, they just throw in a couple of words here and there and then we meet with one of our teachers every day for a tutoring session. Also funny story about being nervous to start class... Arizona is just delightful and decides to not do daylight savings, which is nice and all but it means that currently we are on a different time zone than Utah. Well I kinda forgot that and was all ready to get on class at 8 am on Monday when at 7:45 they text me saying, “Sister Jensen are you able go get on class this morning?” That’s when I realized I had MESSED UP and I was an hour behind. Luckily they had changed the starting time and moved the schedule around so it started at 8:30 instead of 8 and I was only 15 minutes late to class.
In other news, my companion, Сестра Chamberlain, and I were supposed to teach our first lesson today about prayer! We had planned everything out and got on our zoom call today only to sit for 15 minutes without our friend letting us into the call... that’s when we got an email from the MTC saying our meeting was canceled since our friend was sick. BUT, I’m still so grateful that we thought we had a lesson because it gave us a lot of time to study about prayer. And you guys, prayer is literally the coolest thing !! We have the actual opportunity to talk to God any minute of any day. The best part is that He hears and answers all of those prayers. Because God is our Father and we are His children, He wants to communicate with us, have us recognize truth and receive answers to our questions, and we can do all of this through sincere prayer. I promise that God loves each of you, and if it’s been a while since you’ve said a prayer, or maybe even just a really intentional and thoughtful prayer, try saying a prayer today and I promise you will feel of God’s love for you too!
I love the Lord and I love this gospel and am so proud to finally be a missionary. I know this is God’s work and it is only through His help that I’ll be able to become a successful missionary. I love you all!
Со љубов,
Сестра Jensen
I have no clue what order they will send through so I won’t even try to differentiate but:
-My district !! I love them and we’re already having a blast ! I’m so lucky to have four of us there because usually only one person gets sent off to Macedonia at a time, kinda wild.
-Sam and I at the gym !! He was not extremely thrilled, but I was super excited because my stake president gave me permission to lift at the gym (аlso peep my Portuguese name tag since I didn’t have my tag yet)
-My name tags finally came today !!!!!
