howdy howdy
last pday we went and saw Teo perform in an orchestra concert!! it was so tender. He is literally so cool and is doing so well!! It's been fun to start reteaching him the lessons and to see how much his testimony has grown since I first met him. He was ordained to the aaronic priesthood on Sunday and it was so tender.
When we went to visit Vera this week she gave me a bracelet which I'm holding up in this pic and she had me paint her nails which she is also showing off like an icon. It's little things like this that help remind me that God knew I needed to be here:) I love her !!
This week we had 2:))) trips to Ohrid for legal work. Kinda insane when it's 3 hours out of our area meaning we spent 12 hours just in the car... anywho here is a cutie pic of a goat that was just running along side the road randomly and a pic of how pretty Macedonia is with all the fall leaves.
I had Chorba for the first time ! It's this delicious traditional Macedonian soup/stew thing that's like meat and vegetables and it's delicious. It's traditionally served for breakfast which is kinda wild
and more random pics of sis Ch and I
Church this Sunday !! We helped Danica prepare for her lesson in Relief Society and then translated. She did so good ! Then I also had to translate for sacrament meeting which was my first time doing that but it went pretty well !
This week has been full of so so soo many responsibilities that I thought I truly would not be dealing with as a missionary. At first (and still is) it was kind of frustrating and disheartening to spend so much time doing so many of these other things that seemed to be taking us away from missionary work. But as I continually reframe my thoughts to what missionary work is in reality like here, I can feel the reassuring approval of my Heavenly Father.
This morning as Sister Chamberlain and I were driving to meet with one of our members who is struggling with many different things, we were listening to the song, More Holiness Give Me and these lines stuck out to me.
More purity give me,
More strength to o’ercome,
More freedom from earth-stains,
More longing for home.
More fit for the kingdom,
More used would I be,
More blessed and holy—
More, Savior, like thee.
I don't understand everything I am required to do right now, but I do know that it is making me more fit to give continual service in God's kingdom and teaching me how to consecrate everything I have to him. I hope that my efforts are indeed making me more like my Savior.
So ljubov,
Sestra Jeni
